First 5 Friday - Can Animals Say Good Night?

Happy First 5 Friday! Here is a great way to start off your weekend as you READ, TALK and PLAY with your little ones!


READ: Start off your weekend as you read “If Animals Kissed Good Night” by Ann Witford Paul. Does your little one sleep with their favorite stuffed animal? Do they wish their animals could kiss good night? Talk to your little ones about their favorite animals and their nightly routines as you read this week’s book!

TALK: Take this time to talk to your little one about animals, nighttime and about what they think about "If Animals Kissed Good Night" by Ann Whitford Paul.

  1. Hang like a sloth and a cub.

  2. Move slowly like a sloth and a cub.

  3. High-step like a peacock and a chick.

  4. Spin dance like a peacock and a chick.

  5. Wiggle around like a snake and a hatchling.

  6. Wiggle your cheeks like a walrus and a calf would wiggle their whiskers.

  7. Pretend your arm is a long nose and sway like an elephant and a calf.

  8. Make a clicking sound like a parrot and a chick would make with their beaks.

  9. Howl like a wolf and a pup.

  10. Growl like a bear and a cub.

  11. Swing like a monkey and an infant.

  12. Blow kisses like a seal and a calf.

  13. Stumble and slide like a penguin and a chick.

  14. Make a tapping sound like a rhino and a calf would make with their horns.

  15. Stretch really tall like a giraffe and a calf.

  16. Jump up and down like a kangaroo and a joey.

  17. Get down low to the ground like a hippo and a calf would get down in the mud.
